1.       First open Windows Mail by selecting the Start button on your computer. 

2.       After that in the search box, enter Mail, and then, from the list of results you see, choose Windows Live Mail. 

3.       After that select Contacts in the lower-left corner.

4.       Then select Export on the ribbon.

5.       Now select a file format in the drop-down menu.

        If you are exporting multiple contacts, then you should select .csv.

        If you are exporting only one or two contacts, then you should select .vcf.

6.       Now select Browse and select where you want to save your Windows mail contacts.

7.       Now enter a file name and then select Save.

8.       Then select Next, and then select the check boxes there next to the fields that you want to export. Fields that you selected will only be exported, so make sure to select everything you might want later.

    Select Finish to complete the exporting process of windows mail contacts.

1.       In your browser open Gmail.

2.       Then click on the ‘Contacts’ link on the left sidebar.

3.       Now click the ‘Import’ link which you can see in the upper right of the next page that appears.

4.       Now click the ‘Choose File’ button.

5.       Then you need to select your contacts.csv file or .vcf file from where you saved it on your computer in the first part.

6.       If you are looking to add these contacts to a specific group, then check the box and select the group.

7.       Click the ‘Import’ button and you are done.
